MapIt — Restaurant Discovery & Social Map
Project Overview
MapIt is a National Taiwan University Information Management capstone project. It helps people save restaurants they discover in social posts or web links, organize them on a personal map, and plan visits with friends.
Users can import a link or search for a place. An AI-assisted backend extracts restaurant information; the Flutter app then presents saved places on a Mapbox map. Friends can share places through a feed, invite each other to visit, and keep a record of places they visited together.
I contributed across the mobile experience and supporting services. My work in the project includes Mapbox integration and map interactions, improvements to the link-parsing prompts and post-processing, and flows for profiles, shared visits, and saved-place performance. This is an ongoing team project, so these contributions sit alongside work by other members.
